Question D/E Warrior replacement

Dervish/Elementalist
Level: 20

Mysticism: 2 <-- yes, since it doesn't use any skills from the line
Scythe Mastery: 16 (12+4) <-- Scythe + high critical chance
Wind Prayers: 9 (8+1)
Water Magic: 10

- Grenth's Grasp [Elite] (Wind Prayers)
- Conjure Frost (Water Magic)
- Mystic Sweep (Scythe Mastery)
- Reap Impurities (Scythe Mastery)
- Lyssa's Assault (Scythe Mastery)
- Frigid Armor (Water Magic)
- Natural Healing (Wind Prayers)
- Resurrection Signet ()

Other possibilities that were considered:

- Water Trident [Elite] (Water Magic) instead of Grenth's Grasp but the cripple was too good to pass up when AoE-ed

================================================== ========
I don't play PvE dervish but I have a PvP one, I'm just throwing this out for anyone who wants to try it. It doesn't seem that logical for PvP since enchantment removal is more rampant though it does seem nice for beating down SF eles and those burning reliant paragons with "They're on Fire" ...

The idea was to boost the Dervish's armor level to an acceptable level with a 100% uptime (unlike Avatar of Balthazar) while also augmenting the DPS that Dervishes are so good at.

Reap Impurities seemed to Jive with the constant cripple, which is why I slapped that on and Lyssa's Assault sort of makes up for lack of Mysticism allocation.

Cheers.

I dunno, I prefer to use Stoneflesh. That way, NOTHING can hurt me. Unless you are talking about PvP

[skill]Harrier's Grasp[/skill] <-- grenth's grasp is one of the worst elites in the game because of this

How can you replace the warrior without deep wound on your bar?

Yea use Harrier's Grasp instead of Grenth's Grasp and take Wounding Strike or Reaper's Sweep.
And since you have 3 enchantments, maybe Dwayna's Touch instead of Natural Healing?

You're aware you can use Veil of Thorns+Aura of Sanctity for dmg reduction+ AoE cripple and free up your elite slot, right?(getting rid of your points in the horrible Wind Prayers line while you're at it)

I know it is not that great, the point is to avoid the overly used skills...
Don't like stoneflesh because it doesn't give you a conjure option. Earth doesn't have any conjures. If I specced in Earth I would just be making an obsidian flesh tank, since the next thing I'd do is add armro of earth or something else like that instead of Frigid armor.

grenth's grasp cripples things that aren't moving...harrier's grasp you need 15 wind for 100% upkeep (17/25 with 9 wind) and I wanted to put the points in scythe. If I were to swap the elite it would probably be for Reaper's Sweep or Onslaught.

Frojack, you could probably swap in Wounding Strike if you are a fan of deep wound. The problem with Wounding Strike (at least for me) is unlike Eviscerate the additional usages of it after their first use are pointless. Actually, it is not meant to "replace a warrior" but "play like a warrior".

ArKaiN, Veil of Thorns+Aura of Sanctity is too cliche. I'm trying to think outside of the box...

Dwayna's Touch would be nice, but it is too conditional...I thought about it and if I get enchantment stripped that is when I need the heals the most.

All in all, Wind Prayers is pretty dull IMO. Just trying to throw out an idea using Wind Prayers since everyone and their dog uses earth prayers.

Anyway if I followed all suggestions it would look like this:

Mysticism: 2
Scythe Mastery: 16 (12+4)
Wind Prayers: 9 (8+1)
Water Magic: 10

- Crippling Sweep (Scythe Mastery) or Harrier's Grasp (Wind Prayers)
- Reaper's Sweep [Elite] (Scythe Mastery) or Wounding Strike [Elite] (Scythe Mastery)
- Mystic Sweep (Scythe Mastery)
- Reap Impurities (Scythe Mastery)
- Conjure Frost (Water Magic)
- Frigid Armor (Water Magic)
- Dwayna's Touch (Wind Prayers)
- Resurrection Signet ()

Sideboard:
- Natural Healing (Wind Prayers) instead of Dwayna's Touch for heavy enchantment removal areas

Reap Impurities --> Chilling Victory.

It's the highest raw damage attack in the game... Reap Impurities is a bad skill. Yes I know you are trying to use different skills, but still.
Also you might want Whirling Charge for an IAS, weapon builds without an IAS are pretty lacking.

Coloneh, I do.

It just gets old after using the same skills that are "good"...

Thinking outside the box is cool.

Regarding your build, I think, as Coloneh points out, you could use Harrier's Grasp and go a different elite. Perhaps Zealous Vow if you're running into energy issues?

Thinking outside the box is cool when it achieves something.
I dont see anything this build can do that a standard build couldnt do better.
